Community College Is OKAY.

So I'm really irritated because people judge me so hard when I tell them that I'm going to community college. First of all, it's my choice and not something that's a bad choice. At least I'm choosing to further my education.
There's also the fact that just because I'm going to community college first doesn't mean I won't go to a 4 year afterwards. There are plenty of people who are successful who went to community college first. I don't care if I have "So much more potential". What does that even mean?
There is so much stress put on kids when it comes to schooling already and I don't need to hear that me choosing to go to community college is a "bad choice". I don't know what I want to do with my life and maybe I just need some more time. Ugh. The struggle.

Superhero Sanitarium

So last night I had a performance for my theatre class and it actually went really well. I was extremely nervous because that part is inevitable but everyone really loved it and thought it was hilarious. Basically it's about these people who are crazy and think they're superheros until you find out their superheros disguised as crazy people. I loved it. There were a couple of time where we totally dropped our lines and just had to improvise but it still went smoothly. Now I can't wait for Music Man to happen already.

I Love Things. Things Like Star Trek.

I sincerely can't get over how much I love Star Trek. The original series is one of the most inventive things ever. When watching it you catch things that make you laugh but also seriously consider how inventive the creators are. For example, some of Dr. McCoy's instruments were salt shakers. I love that the creators found something so ordinary and saw it as a tool of the future. There has to be that consideration that there are things in "the future" not capable of being made and they have to work with what's on hand and best fits the image they have for this futuristic thing. Star Trek was also really ground breaking for the special effects industry from make-up to props. It was kind of ground breaking for every industry in the movie making/ Hollywood world, and even technologically. There's a documentary called How William Shatner Changed the World and it shows the true impact of all things Star Trek. And seriously every episode is a new adventure. I love it so much I can't even handle it. Gah.
Another reason I decided to blog about it was because Ms. Hofland made me think about it during class when she was talking about the jar of water and glitter being used as a time out method, because they definitely used a water and glitter combination filmed upside down to create the original transporter effect on Star Trek... It's the little things.

Word of The Day: Ineptitude

Ineptitude is defined as being inept, or without skill or aptitude for a particular task or assignment. Therefore, literally everyone is inept, we just don't like to admit it. People can't be good at everything, and even though the word carries such a negative connotation, it also carries honesty. Calling someone inept is an insult, but it's also extermely accurate, because no matter what you do you'll always be inept at something. Fortunately, everyone has specific talents which they can use to do great things, and do them well. Everyone may be inept, but they're also extermely talented when they're doing what they're truly meant to do.
